My goals as a furniture craftsman are structure (built to last), function (built for purpose), form (friendly with surroundings), and beauty (blooms in the space). Commissions have included beds, coffee and dining room tables, chairs, sideboards, folding screens, bookcases, benches, window covers, wall hangings, kitchen cabinets and sliding room dividers.
Many pieces include the use of translucent screens, or shoji, designed and used to divide, conceal, protect, or enhance an area in the home, office or patio. Fixed or moveable, shoji are built for many applications including freestanding folding screens, hinged closet doors, sliding room dividers, valences, cabinet and furniture doors, light shades and sliding window covers.
I continue to enjoy the working of wood in my shop next to our home in the rolling hills of central North Carolina. Please feel free to contact me and explore the possibilities.
